Our Cherry lumber is highly prized for its beautiful color evolution and exceptional finishing properties. The heartwood displays rich tones, varying from a vibrant red to a deep reddish-brown, which naturally darkens significantly over time and on exposure to light, developing a highly sought-after, lustrous patina. This contrasts beautifully with the creamy white sapwood. Cherry wood is renowned for its fine, uniform, straight grain and a distinctively satiny, smooth texture. While typically flawless, the wood may naturally contain characteristic features such as brown pith flecks and small gum pockets, which are inherent to the species and add character. Cherry is exceptionally easy to work with—it machines effortlessly, nails and glues well, and when sanded and stained, it consistently produces an excellent, smooth finish. To maximize the natural beauty and dynamic appearance of the timber, our character cherry products are made by intentionally blending both the rich heartwood and the lighter sapwood, and may also feature those beautiful pith flecks, small gum pockets, and some tight knots, ensuring every piece is unique and full of natural character.
